Dr. Maral D Boyadjian Has a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from St Louis University, Misouri. She also has an M.A. in Educational and Counseling psychology from the American University of Beirut. Her B.A. Is in French language and French linguistics from the university of Toronto along side her education diploma. She was a Senior lecturer at the American University of Beirut for 14 years before the economic crisis hit the country and the Coordinator for introduction to psychology at Notre Dame University where she is a faculty member as well. She also runs her private practice in Lebanon in psychotherapy. She is a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist certified from the U.S. and uses the mind, body, and spirit technique for healing. She is an integrative therapist borrowing from various schools like CBT, REBT etc. and her speciality is working with rape victims and sexually abused individuals. She is an educational consultant, running her own workshops in the fields of mental health, teacher training and leadership. Her concentration in research is usually on oral history as well as trauma as She participates in conferences worldwide. She was a member of the educational council in Lebanon for Armenian schools for two years and she currently volunteers at Azounieh in the Armenian Sanatorium and retirement home. She does a lot of volunteer and community service where she has been influenced by her family's dedication to the Armenian community. Her father Dikran Boyadjian is the director of the Armenian Sanatorium and her brother Samuel Boyadjian is the director of birds nest orphanage in Jbeil. She also plays the piano as her mother Ardemis Emiyan is a renown pianist with her uncles Stepan and Kevork Emiyan in Lebanon. She is a founding member of EMDR Lebanon and was a board member on it for 8 years. She was also a board member of the Lebanese psychological association for three years in Lebanon. She has two published books one entitled “Development Of A Rubric For Assessing The Effective Instructional Methodologies For Children With Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Or Dyslexia In A Lebanese Trilingual Catholic School” “The Armenian Diaspora: Ethnicity and Psychological wellbeing”. She is the author and writer of many articles the most important of which for her are the one entitled "Validation of the Multi Group Ethnic Identity Measure among Ethnic Armenian Adolescents In Lebanon" published in the Journal Identity: An International Journal of Theory and Research. She has a published book entitled The Armenian Diaspora: Ethnicity and Psychological wellbeing. She also has her documentary entitled antsermekheli armadner untouchable roots that is currently airing worldwide.
